In 2024, we will manufacture the first sugarcane juice extraction machine in Togo, which will be used for our first harvest.

Our range of MAWU rums is the expression of demanding artisanal know-how and Fair Trade, where each step is designed to enhance the raw material. From the meticulous selection of sugarcane to its first transformation, we master the entire process to preserve the original identity of the cane.
Crafted exclusively from 100% fresh sugarcane juice, with no external additives, our rums reveal an intensely vegetal, fresh, and precise aromatic profile. This sincere and committed approach gives birth to pure, authentic cuvées, deeply rooted in their terroir.

Our project
Our story
We are Perrine and Fabio, two people from Liège in love with Togo and its people. Since 2017, we have been thinking about and developing this project, with the first bottle to be released in 2024.
The primary aim of this project is to improve the quality of life in a region not far from the capital, in Kovié. To achieve this, we are focusing on the cultivation of Togolese sugarcane to produce a solidarity rum with a unique taste.

We work directly in partnership with small sugarcane producers in Togo, in a fair and sustainable approach.
A contribution to local development
This project also contributes to the improvement of local education. A portion of the profits is reinvested to support the schooling of children in the region.
To date, we have been funding the educational support of 20 students for the past 3 years.
